About Me

I was lovingly named Chickadee by a group of crazy college girls who were students on a wilderness trip that I was leading. I am called Birdie by my loving husband, who started calling me that before knowing I was also “Chickadee”. So, I feel like birds are special to me. I love to cook and eat, and I also like to ponder life and the world (food for thought)…thus “food” is a prevalent theme in my life. This is where “Bird Food” was born.

• My work as a summer camp cook (my favorite job of the two)
